Alphabet Mush

Bennett is increasingly becoming better at identifying letters of the alphabet. V, T, B and S are favorites and are usually covered in jelly/mush/avocado by the end of the meal.

Census

Well, it's census time. Time to be counted and declare that, yes, we're here. As I'm filling out the census form I'm thinking of my children's children, knowing that in 72 years once the census information becomes public record, they will be able to look back, trace their roots all the way back to Cincinnati, to our little house.

I wonder what the census form looked like in 1880 when John Fenton Pratt (on the left) emigrated from England to the Kansas prairie to homestead.

Best Friends

G made Lil' B a knitted Brobee. They have been inseparable since they met.

Gonna Bake Mom a Cake

For G's birthday I shared the secret family cheesecake recipe with Lil' B.

"You want me to hit what with what?"
A toy hammer makes a great tool for preparing a graham cracker crust.

"All ready Dad!!!"

Blended to perfection

Just one more stir

Due to trade secrets that is all we can show. We will unveil the cake tomorrow night at G's birthday dinner.

...but if you must know it is a double chocolate blackberry cheesecake with a dark chocolate ganache frosting.

The Big Day Out

Today was the day of the Yo Gabba Gabba live show that we got tickets for a while back. We were kinda nervous on how B was going to handle an hour and a half live show.

From the time the show started he was enthralled.

Notice the glazed stare

Hometown Hero Mr. Bootsy Collins showed us how to do the peanut butter stomp.

The big balloon drop

and of course Biz Markie was there for the Beat of the Day

Baked Sweet Potato "fries"

We tried something different last week, using cookie cutters to make sweet potato shapes and baked them with a bit of cumin, salt and pepper.

Yummy!!!
